Thanks to Golspie native Sandy Sutherland, Portobello, for this image dating back to the late 1800s and showing the Lundie family outside the Manse at Tongue. Seated are Sandy’s great-grandfather and grandmother Rev David and Elspeth Lundie with his great-uncle Jim Lundie between them. Standing are his grandmother Lamont (Tottie) and Rev William Lundie. Both David and William served as Church of Scotland ministers in Tongue and are buried in the churchyard there. The manse, now known as Lundies, has recently been refurbished at a cost of more than £3 million.
