LOOKING BACK: Retirement presentation for Durness firefighter

To mark his retirement in 2005, Durness firefighter Willie Mackay (front, third left in the image) was presented with a ceremonial axe on behalf of the Highland and Islands Fire Brigade by Gareth Edwards, assistant divisional officer based in Thurso. He also received a crystal rosebowl from his local colleagues, presented by John Miller. The presentation was attended by Willie's Durness colleagues and some from Kinlochbervie.
