Golspie High School pupils could be asked to design a logo to represent the district’s community council.

The prospect of linking with the school to come up with an emblem was raised by community council secretary Henrietta Marriott at the group’s monthly Zoom meeting this week.

She said the move would have the added benefit of engaging pupils with the work of the council.

“We do send out the odd letter or card and I wondered whether it would be nice to involve the art department of the high school to come up with a nice logo from Golspie Community Council,” she said.

“That would mean that, when I do write to someone, it comes from the council rather than just a page of A4 I have printed out of my computer.

“I thought it would be good for the high school to engage with us.”

The idea found favour with council members.

Becky Shaw said: “It might be good to have a card competition to come up with a Golspie 2021 card.”

Mrs Marriott queried what time of year it would be best to approach the school.
