A HIGHLAND Council official is to attend next month's meeting of Brora Community Council to discuss the village's public toilets.

Community councillor Diana Royce said at the group's March meeting that the toilets, in the Co-op car park, were 'not pleasant to visit' and suggested volunteers form a work party to give them a facelift.

East Sutherland and Edderton ward councillor Deirdre Mackay confirmed at Thursday's unveiling of a Vision for Brora that the toilets were on the authority's radar.

"An official will be going along to the May 17 meeting of the community council to look at options in terms of the future," she said.

"There is a willingness within the community council to effect some cosmetic improvements so the toilets look better and officials will provide some support for that."
