Coastguard volunteers are being sought in communities right across the Highlands after a recruitment drive was launched.

HM Coastguard has launched a campaign for volunteers in the north of Scotland, and they are recruiting at a dozen separate locations.

Teams in Caithness, Sutherland, Ross-shire, Inverness-shire and Nairn are all on the look-out for new members.

The full list of stations seeking volunteers is (in alphabetical order) Applecross, Cromarty, Duncansby Head, Durness, Gairloch, Inverness, Kinlochbervie, Melness, Nairn, Scrabster (Thurso), Ullapool and Wick.

A spokesperson for the Coastguard said: "Our recruitment campaign for volunteers in the North of Scotland is now open. We’re recruiting in a number of stations.

"Please follow the link here which will take you to the membership application.

"Our course is commencing on April 28.
