An army team has set a new record for the fastest run (on foot) from Land's End to John O'Groats.

Record breakers!
Record breakers!

The army instructors set off from Land's End at 7am on Monday and, running in shifts, covered the 813 miles in just three days, 23 hours and 40 minutes.

They slashed a huge chunk off the earlier record of four days, 18 hours and two minutes held by FFJogle2016(UK). That record has stood for six years.

A spokesperson confirmed: "Well the team have gone and done it – they didn't just break the record, they absolutely smashed it out of the park."

The 12-strong mixed group all serve with the RAPTCI – Royal Army Physical Training Corps Instructors.

They were running in aid of the Royal British Legion as thanks for the support they give both serving and ex-serving military personnel.
