Kinlochbervie High School has enjoyed a highly successful year with a great deal of achievement by pupils and staff despite difficult circumstances, its head teacher has said.

Graeme Smart addressed the school community at an end of year prize-giving ceremony yesterday.

He said the year had seen the return of SQA exams, which because of the coronavirus pandemic, were for many pupils the first they had sat in a formal setting.

“We are confident that come August 9, we will seen an excellent set of results which will open the doors to the next step in the lives of our leavers and prepare the ground for the next year for those who remain,” he said.

“We say farewell today to all those pupils who are leaving us whether to go on to university, college or employment and we wish them every success for the future.

“To those who are leaving, we will miss you but stay in touch. It is always great to hear how you are getting on even many years after you leave us.

“To those who are returning, have a well-earned rest and a great summer.”
