A new Newtonmore venture hopes to be packing in the tourists soon... with their alpacas.

Lochbuie Croft run by Jenni MacDonell and her partner Robert Mackenzie is set to diversify – and how.

Jenni said: "We fell in love with these beautiful animals at first sight and decided to establish Cairngorm Alpaca Trekking as a first in Badenoch and Strathspey."

If all goes to plan they will be stepping out officially next month as the area's newest and probably most unusual tourism attraction.

The alpaca is a species of South American camelid mammal.

It is similar to, and often confused with, the llama. However, alpacas are often noticeably smaller than their close relative.
