A Sutherland woman who caused thousands of pounds worth of damage to an Inverness store will be sentenced next month.

Amber Nicholson, of Earls Cross Road, Dornoch appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court and admitted breaking into Primark, in Bridge Street, and wilfully and recklessly damaging the property by breaking a window and overturning electronic till equipment.

The offences occurred on October 24, 2021.

Before any facts were narrated, Sheriff Gareth Jones deferred sentence for a background report until July 21.

Defence solicitor Rory Gowans suggested the deferral for his 23-year-old client because: "The damage was in the region of thousands of pounds."
