The new Courtyard by Marriott Hotel at Inverness Airport is set to open on Monday.

A NEW flagship hotel at Inverness Airport is set to open its door to its first guests.

Completion of the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel at Inverness Airport had originally been set for November last year, but was delayed when vital cladding could not be delivered in time.

The £15 million, 130-bedroom development is now set to open on Monday.

Just a two-minute walk from the airport terminal the hotel has created 40 new jobs.

General manager Ina Davies said: “We’re very much looking forward to officially opening the doors to the hotel on Monday.

“The whole team is ready to welcome our guests and give them a truly first class experience.”

Inverness Chamber of Commerce chief executive Stewart Nicol had previously welcomed the development, saying it would be a useful base for leisure travellers who need to catch early morning flights as well as for business travellers looking for a convenient base while in the Inverness area.

“It is a good addition for the airport, the city and the region overall,” he said.

Labour MSP David Stewart said it would provide a welcome economic boost.
