Club spokesman Alistair Risk said the athlete had "wowed the audience", which included the world vice president Nikki Scott.

Prior to winning a place in the ski team, Ms Gordon, competed as a canoeist, winning silver medals in the 2021 world championships.

She shared the billing at the conference with Gordon McInally who is set to take over as Rotary world president.

"Hope is a very inspiring young lady with a huge personality and we are all very proud of her," said Mr Risk.
