MasterChef star shows off cooking skills

A masterchef finalist has shared her cooking skills with dozens more Highland food lovers.

Following a sold-out event at An Talla, at Dochgarroch, last June Sarah Rankin returned to the venue on Friday, February 10, for another demonstration and tasting event.

The culinary queen prepared two dishes – hisibi cabbage, chicken skin butter and caesar dressing, followed by a gin-cured sea trout and beetroot with fennel and cucumber pickle.

Attendees were also treated to taster items from the An Talla menu and gin cocktails.

Afterwards Sarah said: “It was great to be back at An Talla and to share some delicious new recipes.

“I love sharing my passion for cooking and using local, seasonal ingredients with fellow foodies at events like this – I hope everyone who attended is inspired to get into the kitchen and try them for themselves.”

Freda Newton, managing director of Loch Ness by Jacobite which operates An Talla, added: “It was great to welcome Sarah back to An Talla and to welcome familiar and new faces too.

“Our ‘shop local support local’ ethos is echoed by Sarah, who is extremely passionate about local, seasonal produce.

“We thoroughly enjoyed offering our guests sample canapes – some of which will appear on our summer menu.

“An Talla is proving to be a popular venue for hosting evening events, something we hope to do more of throughout 2023.”
