Pupils at Glenurquhart Primary School are self-isolating following a positive Covid-19 case there.

A child at the school had tested positive and, because they had contact with children in other classes, the entire school has been closed following advice from NHS Highland.

A Highland Council spokesman said: “We have been made aware of a positive case of Covid-19 in a child at Glenurquhart Primary School. The same child has had contact with children from other classes in the school. Therefore, NHS’s Health Protection Team advised that the entire school be closed at this stage as a precaution with pupils and staff being asked to self-isolate.

“All necessary action has been taken at the school and deep cleaning will take place. Letters were distributed to parents today. The Highland Council continues to work in partnership with NHS Highland’s Health Protection Team."
