Highland Council inviting applications for free school meals and school clothing grant

Highland Council is now accepting applications for free school meals and assistance with school clothing for the 2022/23 academic year.

The clothing grant is £140 for primary school children and £150 for those in secondary school and it is paid directly into the recipient's bank account.

In order to be eligible for the payments, households must be in receipt of a benefit such as Universal Credit, Job Seekers Allowance or Child Tax Credit and Working Tax Credit.

A Highland Council spokesman said: "Please note that we cannot advise of the date you will receive your clothing grant, but we will deal with your application as soon as possible."
