PUPILS and staff at Brora and Helmsdale’s primaries did their best to wish everyone from their school communities a very happy Christmas.

Helmsdale had their term cut short due to people waiting for Covid testing results. To lighten the mood the community council granted them money to buy every pupil a pizza making kit, kindly made up by Rob at Thyme and Plaice.

Staff who had got their clear results, delivered their kits in their Christmas costumes to bring a smile.

Brora primary invited their parents to arrive a little early on the last day of term – distance in family groups outside the school and then enjoy some Christmas carols by the pupils in their spaced classes out at the front of the primary.

The nursery had the front spot, where they sang and did sign language actions.

“It has been such a long time since schools can do anything for their families that it was a lovely end of term to have something involving them,” said a school spokesperson.
