Two online events will take place on Tuesday to ask the public their views on a new overhead power line to connect the Sallachy wind farm near Lairg.

The consultation events, hosted by SSEN Transmission, will present the preferred route and proposed technology for the line which will run for 7km from between the proposed Sallachy substation and the existing Cassley substation.

Project manager Derek Hearns said: “We are relatively early on in the project and we are keen to work closely with the local community to consider their views. We encourage anyone who might be interested in our proposals to join the virtual consultations where you will be able to engage directly with our project team.”

The events will take place from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-7.30pm on Tuesday, December 15, via www.ssen-transmission.co.uk/projects/sallachy-wind-farm-connection
