Lots of gift ideas for Mothering Sunday were on display at the North Coast Market held in Armadale Village Hall at the weekend.

Organiser Fiona Macfarlane said: "We had a stunning day for our market at Armadale Hall on Saturday. We had 17 stalls ranging from beautiful flowers to gorgeous brownies.

"We had eight stalls selling food and drink, and a good choice of crafts. Although not as busy as last time it was well supported given it’s still only March."

Fiona is continuing to be on the lookout for more food stalls, and particularly would like a local bread maker to sign up.

Among the new stalls setting up at the event was Oldhall House Farm, Watten, with "very tasty" sausages, pork and ham, while Flower Daze, Bower, had some beautiful fresh and silk flowers on display.

Another new exhibitor was North Coast Quilts, selling a variety of quilting goods, as well as some sunflowers to raise funds for the Ukraine, with a local wool spinner who specialises in hand-dyed knitting yarn, called Gongcrafts, also taking part.

Those interested in buying a sweet treat were not disappointed with some of the best brownies to found available in a selection of tasty flavours. Other food items included homemade lemon curd, goats cheese, tasty salami, bacon, jams, marmalades, fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as eggs. To wash it all down, North Point Distillery were there with a selection of gin and rum.

There were also plenty of Mother's Day gifts ideas, ranging from silver jewellery, to cards, colourful gloves, scarves, cute cuddly knitted animals, tweed bags, pottery and fresh flower bouquets.
