Temporary road closure in Sutherland village of Golspie flagged ahead of weekend to pave way for Network Rail work

A TEMPORARY road closure in a Highland village to allow work on a railway to be carried out safely has been flagged.

The closure affects the U3184 Kirkton Road in Golspie in Sutherland.

It affects around 20 metres at either side of the railway crossing.

The closure will come into operation at 12.30am on Sunday, February 7 and remain in place until 11.30pm on Monday, February 8.

Highland Council said the road closure is required to allow Network Rail to carry out works safely.

There will be no alternative routes available.
