In communities across the Highlands there are people who always go the extra mile for others, whether that is fundraising or going above and beyond their public service duty.

We are asking you to nominate fundraisers and public servants for a Highland Heroes 2022 award to thank them for their efforts and dedication.

The public servant of the year will be an individual who has gone the extra mile in the delivery of their job, making a real difference to their service users, the organisation they work for or the community they work in.

The award is sponsored by McLaren Tractors.

George McLaren from McLaren Tractors said: “The past months have been so challenging for our communities and have put an even greater need for support on local services and organisations. So many of our public servants have gone above and beyond their job role to support individuals and communities to get through this unprecedented time.

"When we needed them the most, they were there for us. We are delighted to support the Highland Heroes 2022 awards and to sponsor the award for public servant of the year. We encourage everyone to show their support now and nominate their public servant of the year.”

The fundraiser award, sponsored by Arnold Clark, will go to an individual who devotes his or her time and effort to raise funds for Highland charities or causes.

Russell Borrie, Arnold Clark chief operating officer, said: "At Arnold Clark, we believe in the power of community and helping others whenever we can.

"After another challenging year, we’re delighted to see Highland Heroes once again recognising those who make a real difference in their communities in the north of Scotland. Fundraising is more challenging than ever before, and those who go that extra mile to help causes close to their hearts show true community spirit."
