FOURTEEN teams competed in Bonar Bridge Primary School Parent Council's annual four-legged race last weekend, cheered on by a large crowd of spectators.
The teams set off from the golf club, made their way down Bonar Brae, along Cherry Grove and through the Main Street. Each team had to call at the Bridge Hotel, the village hall and the Dunroamin Hotel before returning to the hall.
Fastest team were the Three Nuns and the best fancy dress award went to the Wine, Cheese and Grapes team. After the race, locals enjoyed a dance in the hall to the Cowans, which was again, well attended and enjoyed by all.
Principal teacher Lisa Mackenze thanked all those who had made the event such a success and praised the parent council for its commitment and hard work.
She said: "Thanks also go to the willing competitors, who put in a huge amount of effort to dress up and turn up on what was one of the wettest weekends of the year."
Local businesses supported the event by donating raffle prizes and hosting the race participants on the night.
More than £1500 was raised for Bonar Bridge Primary School and Nursery, which will go towards replacing old PE equipment.
