DAISY the campervan could not fail to bring a smile as she journeyed along the North Coast 500 route.

The owners of Daisy, Ian Ferguson and Debbie Price of Turriff, had their photo taken on a stop at Golspie on Friday morning after travelling down from Wick, where Ian is originally from. They had their three dogs on board for the trip too.

"When we got it, it was just like a typical white campervan and we just wanted to brighten it up a bit," Ian said.

"Because of Covid we've not been out in her much but we normally try and get away every weekend. We went up to visit a friend in Wick and are doing the NC500 too."

The Volkswagen LT35 was converted from a minibus into a campervan and painted up soon after the couple purchased it two years ago.

When asked if Ian had been a hippy back in his youth, Debbie replied: "More of a would-be hippy, really."
