A HALF-century of flower power is to be celebrated by Sutherland Floral Art Club.
Members are to mark their milestone anniversary at a dinner on Wednesday, April 24.
And chairwoman Brenda MacMillan is inviting anyone who has been involved with the club over the years to attend the event at Brora Golf Club.
She said: "We're going to have a big get-together and if any former members would like to join us, then they would be very welcome."
The club was founded by Mary Dudgeon of Crakaig and is associated with the Scottish Association of Flower Arrangement Societies (SAFAS). It currently has 30 members - two of whom, Beryl Nicol and Cath Munro, have been there since the start.
Members meets monthly to socialise and to watch a themed demonstration by a professional floral artist whose work is then raffled. There will be a demonstrator at the anniversary dinner.
There have been a number of high points in the club's 50-year-history such as in 1989 when members decorated Dornoch Cathedral for its 750th anniversary and later Golspie High School when it hosted the Royal National Mod in 1995.
They also used to take over a tent at Sutherland Agricultural Show and fill it with floral displays but have not done so for a number of years.
There is an ideal opportunity this weekend to learn more about the club and purchase some special Mother's Day floral arrangements at a Mother's Day sale at Fountain Road hall, Golspie from noon to 3.30pm today and 10am to 1.30pm tomorrow.
Mrs MacMillan said: "We're really looking forward to meeting people at the sale and showcasing our work."
