A9 and A862 restricted following vehicle fire near Cromarty Bridge’s Ardullie Roundabout; Scottish Fire and Rescue say the incident was on the A862 between the Cromarty Bridge and Dingwall, Ross-shire
A vehicle fire is causing disruption to A9 motorists and those heading between Dingwall and the Cromarty Bridge.
Traffic Scotland has confirmed that the A9 is currently “restricted” both ways at the Ardullie Roundabout, at the northern end of the Cromarty Bridge - and there is no access onto the A862 road which heads into Dingwall.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said it was called to a vehicle fire on the A862 at 9.08am, and sent two appliances to the scene - one from Dingwall and another from Inverness.
They stood down at 9.45am, although one remained at the scene at the time of writing.
Traffic Scotland has advised motorists on the A9 and A862 to expect disruption. A spokesperson, speaking at 9.44am, said: “The A9 is currently restricted in both directions at Ardullie Roundabout. due to a vehicle fire. There is no access to the A862.
“Motorists are advised to use caution on approach and allow extra time for their journey.”
