If you are looking for some festive fun, then head to Dornoch on Saturday, December 3, when the town officially launches its Christmas season.
Dornoch is always a joy to visit with its range of independent retailers, but there will be plenty more to do and see with a festive fair, outdoor market, carol singing and the switch-on of the Christmas lights.
And Father Christmas will be present on the day!
The traditional St Andrew's Fair is being held in the community centre (Dornoch Social Club) from 10am-4pm. Browse round stalls selling arts, crafts, food items, clothing, bric a brac, photography, woodworking and more.
Dornoch Allsorts After School Club is in charge of the kitchen and will be offering delicious home baking, refreshments and homemade soup.
Guest of honour at the fair will, of course, be Santa Claus who will be spreading Christmas magic from his grotto. Children can have their photo taken with him.
The outdoor Christmas Market is moving to the new Dornoch South Car Park in Shore Road for 2022 – with free parking and easy access to all the stalls.
Open from 10am until 2pm, there are 16 stalls with a range of food and craft offerings (including decorations, candles, woodwork, chopping boards, bags, glassware, baby clothes and knitwear) and the ever-popular bacon rolls and hot chocolate to keep everyone warm.
Dornoch has new Christmas tree lights this year which will come on at 3.30pm and there will be carols in the Dornoch Cathedral at 4pm.
