Pauline Blackshaw, director of strategy and change at CalMac, said: “We understand the importance for our customers of being able to plan their summer travel well in advance and worked hard to make as many routes as possible available within phase one.
“For the remaining routes within phase two, we are continuing to navigate the planning process, including ongoing engagement with communities and the development of tidal timetables.
"We want to make sure we get this right so while we couldn’t release all routes immediately, this phased approach demonstrates our commitment to providing a well-considered solution while making as many routes as possible available before the Christmas period.
“I extend my gratitude to our customers for their support and patience as we work through this process.”
