CalMac ferry cancellations hit Ullapool-Stornoway crossings; sparking warning for Highland and Hebrides passengers

Ferry passengers are facing disruption after some sailings were cancelled and others faced potential cancellation if conditions deteriorate.

The CalMac sailings from Stornoway to Ullapool at 2.30pm and from Ullapool to Stornoway at 6.15pm on Thursday are both now cancelled, the ferry operator confirmed in an update this morning.

And they have warned that cancellations are also possible heading into Friday.

In their latest update, CalMac said: “Due to adverse weather forecast, service is liable to disruption or cancellation at short notice.”

The night-time freight services are currenty set to run, but are also subject to potential disruption or cancellation. These include the 8.45pm Stornoway to Ullapool crossing and the 3.45am Ullapool return trip overnight tonight, as well as the 8.45pm Stornoway sailing for Ullapool on Halloween.
