Farr Primary School's reverse advent calendar gives boost to foodbank

Pupils at a north coast school ran a reverse advent calendar scheme in the run-up to Christmas to benefit those in need.

Traditionally, advent calendars are used to count down the days of Advent, with people receiving a small treat contained in the calendar, each day.

However, reverse advent calendars turn this on its head and encourage giving rather than receiving.

Farr Primary School Pupil Council asked local people to donate items each day that the local foodbank was in need of.

The response was tremendous with a huge haul given to the foodbank.
