The verdict: “Hogg trade was slightly sharper on the week especially for hopper fed export types which met a firm enquiry. The difference between fed sheep and those that weren’t is becoming even more evident. A very mixed show for quality greeted the usual full ring of buyers. Bigger heavier sorts would be a shade dearer for these types as, bar a handful, there wasn’t many shapey continental types forward.”
