AN acclaimed Easter Ross chef and businessman is showcasing the produce of his local patch at a major event this week.

Graham Rooney of Platform 1864 in Tain was invited to take part in a cooking demonstration at this year's Royal Highland Show, which is celebrating its 200th anniversary.

Mr Rooney (42) said he is very honoured to be invited to take part in a demonstration in the live cooking theatre as well as cooking in a Saturday Kitchen style TV show.

He is focussing on reducing food miles as well as supporting local business and what they have to offer in this area. He is using products from the following suppliers.

Pork – Petley Farm, Portmahomack.

Lamb – Fearn Farm, Fearn.

Cheese – Highland Fine Cheeses, Tain

Honey – Easter Ross Blossom Honey, Balintore Tain.

Haggis – John M Munro, Tain

Charcuterie – Bogrow Farm, Tain

Oats – Golspie Mill, Golspie

Cooking oils – Cullisse, Nigg Tain

Herbs foraged by Graham himself.
