Dornoch car dealer's appeal for information after vehicle is stolen from valeting yard

Police are appealing for information after a car was stolen from a valeting premises in Inverness.

The vehicle, a white Ford Fiesta with registration MA62 USS, is the property of North Coast Cars, a garage and car sales firm in Dornoch.

It was reported missing on Thursday afternoon, believed to have been stolen from the address on Thornbush Road in Inverness sometime between the hours of 3.30pm on Wednesday April 20 and 3.30pm on Thursday April 21.

David Dunbar of the valeting and detailing company, Double Bubble, said: "The police are aware and are searching. We are awaiting the landlord checking CCTV at our yard.

"The yard was broken in to after closing hours, but nothing else was touched except this one vehicle. None of the other vehicles we had there, the alloys, forklifts had been taken, they were all left untouched.

"I can’t believe someone has had the hard neck to break in to a yard with CCTV, but some people just don’t have any respect."

Kevin Maclennan, proprietor of North Coast Cars, said: "We would really appreciate any information leading to the return of the vehicle. Any information we receive will be kept in the strictest confidence."

The matter has been reported to Police Scotland with incident number 3186.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers received a report of a vehicle stolen from Thornbush Road in Inverness around 8pm on Thursday April 21 2022.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
