Highland Council announces return of Highlands Virtual Jobs Fair this November





The Highland Council’s employability team have announced the return of the Highlands Virtual Jobs Fair, which will run from Monday, November 17 to Friday, November 21, immediately following Scottish Careers Week.

Throughout the week, employers from a variety of sectors will host live online sessions, offering insights into full-time, part-time, apprenticeship, and seasonal roles.

Confirmed employers include Veitchi Group, Highland Home Carers, Caithness Collective, Eilean Donan Castle, The Highland Council, Balfour Beatty, Wood Plc, Murphy Group, CrossReach and Ecosystems Technologies Ltd, among others.

The online event is part of a joint effort through the Local Employability Partnership to connect jobseekers across the Highlands with employers offering a wide range of roles. Key supporters include Skills Development Scotland, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, the Department for Work and Pensions, Developing the Young Workforce, UHI North West and Hebrides and NHS Highland.

Councillor Ken Gowans, Economy and Infrastructure Committee Chair, said: “Following the success of previous virtual job fairs, this Highland virtual jobs fair provides a fantastic platform to showcase the wide range of opportunities available for people to develop and learn new skills in employment.

“Employers will be on hand to answer questions and explain the training pathways and development options they offer.”

He added: “By hosting the event online, we’re making it easier for people to attend without the need to travel. The sessions are designed to be flexible, allowing attendees to drop in and out throughout the week. It’s accessible to everyone, regardless of location or circumstances, and directly connects potential employees with employers.”

Throughout the week, the council’s employability team will also offer one-to-one support for attendees, providing advice on applications, training, and employability options.
