Defibrillator installed at Golspie shop in memory of Helmsdale man Ross Whitehead





A life-saving machine has been installed at a Golspie shop in memory of a Helmsdale man.

The new defibrillator at the front of Ben View Stores in Ross Street is in memory of former Royal Marine and driving instructor Ross Whitehead, who died on May 22 aged just 50.

A family representative said: “It was a family decision to purchase defibrillators, and it’s an honour to have one at the shop, bought with the money raised at the funeral so thank you for the donations given to the family, and now hopefully it can help save lives.”

If the defibrillator is needed, people should follow the instructions on the box.

The code for the defibrillator can be given out during shop hours, provided a 999 call has been made.
