Deadline looming for entries to Neil Gunn Writing Competition

The deadline is looming for entries to the 2021-2022 Neil Gunn Writing Competition.

The competition, which is being run by High Life Highland in conjunction with the Neil Gunn Trust, opened in September and closes on Friday, March 4.

Entries are invited from adult writers worldwide in two sections - adult poetry and adult short story. There is an entry fee of £8.

There are also another two sections, one for secondary school pupils from S3 to S6; and another for primary pupils from P5-7. Pupils who enter must attend Highland Council schools.

Competition organisers are asking that the writing should be inspired by selected quotes from works by Neil Gunn - to see the quotes and for further information, visit highlifehighland.com/neilgunn/

Rules and entry forms are also available from local libraries, including mobile libraries.

Lead judge is distinguished author and patron of the Neil Gunn Trust, James Robertson.
