Date set for festive evening and lights switch-on at Culrain

A SMALL Sutherland community is holding a Christmas gathering at the start of December.

Culran and District Hall is hosting a community festive evening on Friday, December 1, from 6pm-8pm.

One of the highlights of the event will be the turning on of the Christmas lights.

Last year's festive event at Culrain Hall was well attended with Gledfield Primary School pupil Rebecca Lall given the honour of switching on the Christmas lights.

Organisers are encouraging anyone attending to don Christmas attire, with a prize for the best dressed.

There will be plenty to see and do with the opportunity to win a Christmas wreath and a guess the weight of the Christmas cake competition.

A piper and Christmas music will spread some festive cheer and there will also be a Christmas craft stall to browse around and a bottle tombola.

Warming complimentary mulled wine and hot chocolate will be on offer as well as mince pies and sausage rolls.

Organisers say that everyone is welcome and donations to the hall funds would be appreciated.
