THE results of the Crofting Commssion election have been declared following a count at the Town House in Invernesson Friday.

The results for East Highlands:

•Kenneth Hardie (22)

• Rod MacKenzie 142

• Archie Macnab 51

• Robert Merees 89

Rod MacKenzie was elected at stage 2

The results for South West Highlands:

• Colin Kennedy 170

• William Neilson 142

• Craig Ward 27

Colin Kennedy was elected at stage 1

The results for Shetland:

• Duncan Gray 246

• Andrew Holt (44)

• Lauraine Manson 244

Duncan Gray was elected as the new commissioner for Shetland at stage 2

The results for Orkney and Caithness:

• Donald MacDonald 146

• David MacGregor 26

• Peter Stewart 54

Donald MacDonald is the new commissioner at stage 1

The Western Isles results:

• Iain MacIver – 684 votes

• John MacAulay – 557 votes

Iain MacIver was elected at stage 1

The West Highlands constituency:

• Gordon Drysdale (191)

• Mairi Renwick MacKenzie 532

• Marjory Robertson 361
