Contin brother and sister take top honours in Golspie's Banger Derby

A brother and sister from Contin took the top honours yesterday (Sunday) at Golspie's car banger derby - one of the most popular Gala Week events.

Martin and Lindsey Crombie, beat a strong field of 66 competitors to take the overall title.As always, the event was well attended with an excellent turn-out of spectators, despite the rain earlier in the day. The wet conditions meant competitors had to navigate through clouds of dust.The award for the Best Decorated Car went to Alan Fraser, Ullapool, in his 'Red Bull' with the only local success being achieved by Fionn Mitchell, Golspie winning the award as the 'Most Entertaining' driver.
