Cinemagoers in Thurso will be able to celebrate the 75th birthday of classical music star André Rieu at two screenings in April.

The Dutch violinist and conductor and his Johann Strauss Orchestra feature in a production called The Dream Continues.

The film will be shown in 500 UK picture houses, including Thurso’s Merlin Cinema on Saturday, April 12 (7.30pm), and Sunday, April 13 (2pm).

André has chosen some of his favourite performances for a trip down musical memory lane as he and his orchestra tour the world from New York to Vienna, from Bahrain to Malta and from Sydney to his home town of Maastricht.

Hosted by ITV Good Morning Britain’s Charlotte Hawkins, The Dream Continues features conversations with André on a boat cruising down the river Maas as he reflects on memorable concerts and shares a few stories.

The film is presented by Piece of Magic Entertainment.

Full listings for The Dream Continues are on www.andreincinemas.com and tickets are on sale now.
