Vote for Clachtoll Broch - excavation project up for archaeology magazine award

The project to excavate and conserve Clachtoll Broch is in the running for an award.

Current Archaeology, a UK archaeology magazine,has named the broch in the line-up of contenders for one of its eponymous annual awards.

Clachtoll Broch is one of six schemes vying for the top slot in the Rescue Project of the Year 2021 category.

The awards are voted for entirely by the public - there is no panel of judges.

Voting is open from now until February 8 and winners will be announced on February 26.

The excavation of the broch, considered one of the most spectacular Iron Age settlements on the Scottish mainland, was undertaken by Historic Assynt and AOC Archaeology Group.
