AROUND 100 coffins have appeared in a loch near Alness, as part of filming for hit reality TV show The Traitors.

Spotted yesterday (May 19), the coffins were seen floating on Loch Glass, with the backdrop of local landmark The Pink House. It is believed they might be a major hint about an upcoming challenge in BBC’s The Celebrity Traitors, which is due to air this autumn. The line-up for the show’s star-studded series includes the likes of Paloma Faith, Jonathon Ross and Stephen Fry.

The Pink House— a 30 minute walk from a small car park — is a popular scenic destination for walkers, but those heading to the area this week were no doubt surprised at the bizarre sight of caskets floating on the loch, tethered to buoys.

Some Traitors superfans have speculated that the coffins are being tested for a new game.

The Pink House was built many years ago without planning consent, and was never finished or lived in, making it a local landmark for visitors.

As well as the coffins, local photographer Peter Jolly also spotted a fake cemetery built nearby on the shores of the loch.

Hosted by Claudia Winkleman, The Traitors takes place at Ardross Castle, around five miles north of Alness. Celebrity Traitors will see participants compete for a prize of up to £120,000.
