Celebration to mark 40 years at fish shop planned when coronavirus is over

A popular local shop assistant has reached a milestone in his career.

Hamish Campbell, of fish merchants A G Campbell of Golspie, clocked up 40 years behind the counter.

He first started in the shop on May 1 , 1980, aged 21.Previously he had worked in the Co-op in both Brora and Golspie.

Hamish said: “I have greatly enjoyed my time here mainly because of meeting various members of the public and in particular our regular clients.”

Shop owner Sandy Campbell said: “We were planning to have a meal and entertainment in the Stag’s Head Hotel to celebrate the occasion but of course because of lockdown we have had to postpone that.

“But once everything is back to normal, we will organise that.”
