Police appeal following a car theft.

The car was taken from outside a property some time yesterday.

In a Facebook appeal police said the silver-coloured Dacia Duster, registration number ND64 NBX, was taken from otuside the rgistered keeper's home in Durness on Sunday, October 17.

Sergeant James Maciver said: "This is one of a small number of similar incidents in the area recently and police are keen to speak with anyone that may have seen anyone acting suspiciously around the Durness area.

"Do you have a dashcam or private space CCTV which may cover the A838?

"Have you seen this vehicle in the past 24 hours?"

He added: "Further to seeking information to the theft of this vehicle, we are wishing to advise residents in the area to ensure vehicle and properties are left secure as these incidents have been opportunistic in their nature with the vehicle appearing to be taken by their true keys.

"Please do not give these person/s the opportunity to take away your hard earned property.
