Two local groups gave a shout-out last week for people to don their galoshes and go down to the harbour at lunch-time today to take part in a film.

And a good number of all ages obliged.

It is all to do with a film being made by Helmsdale Kitchen Garden and Helmsdale Development Trust for an application to the Climate Challenge Fund.

Those taking part were asked to wade into the water, space themselves into a line and hold up sheets of paper on which was written 'We've got a solution for Helmsdale and the planet'.

Presentations on the climate challenge will be made at Helmsdale's Timespan Cultural Institution from 6pm this evening. Under discussion will be the measures that can be taken locally to combat global warming.

A community meal is to be served at the event.
