Busy 2024 for Assynt Mountain Rescue Team with 28 call outs





It’s been another busy year for Assynt Mountain Rescue Team with members responding to a total of 28 different call outs in 2024.

Six new team members also successfully completed their probation.

A spokesperson for the service said: “Cumulatively our 34 full team members volunteered more than 3000 hours attending training and callouts.

“There were a few changes within the committee, and we welcomed a new team leader, chairman, medical officer, equipment officer and vehicle officer.

“Assynt Mountain Rescue Team covers an area of >7500km2 of land; that’s over over 220,000,000m2 per team member.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the organisations we have worked with this past year; including Police Scotland, Scottish Ambulance Service, Maritime and Coastguard Agency, Scottish Mountain Rescue, Search & Rescue Dog Association (Scotland), and also Sutherland Lord-Lieutenant Patrick Marriott.”
