COVID may have restricted many aspects of everyday life but it has not stopped Christmas coming to Buckie.

Safety measures to contain the spread of the virus have meant that most seasonal events cannot take place or, if they do, it is in a highly restricted form.

A casualty of this has been one of the biggest events in Buckie's calendar, the Buckie Christmas Kracker (BCK), which usually rounded off a packed day with switch on of the town, followed by a spectacular fireworks display.

While all of this went out the window it did not stop the dedicated team of volunteer at Buckie Christmas Lights putting their heads together and working out a safe and socially distanced way of getting the displays up.

Unfortunately, there was no exciting countdown in front of a crowd to the switch-on on November 21. A virtual stream through the BCK Facebook page had to do, but that did not take away from the spectacular lights display.
