Book on Clachtoll Broch community excavation now available

A DETAILED study of Clachtoll Broch is now available in hardback.

Loanhead based AOC Archaeology, which worked closely with Historic Assynt on the community excavation of the broch, has announced it has taken delivery of the book.

A spokesman said: "We are delighted to have the first copies of the Clachtoll monograph in our hands!"

Entitled 'Clachtoll: an Iron Age Broch Settlement in Assynt, north-west Scotland', the publication is available via Oxbow Books (www.oxbowbooks.com).

An open access download will also be available shortly.

AOC Archaeology said: "We're so grateful to Historic Assynt for involving us in their most ambitious project to date."

Work at Clachtoll was delivered as part of Coigach and Assynt Living Landscape with support from Historic Environment Scotland, National Lottery Heritage Fund Scotland and a number of other grant providers.

The Clachtoll Broch excavation began in 2017.
