A young man drove while nearly four times the drink-drive limit.

Archie Hunter (25) was caught drink driving and driving without insurance on the A9 near Ardullie Roundabout near the Cromarty Bridge on April 21.

Hunter, of Migdale Road, Bonar Bridge pleaded guilty to driving with 82mg of alcohol per 100ml when the legal limit is 22mg.

He was warned by Sheriff Eilidh Macdonald at Inverness Sheriff Court that “it was becoming a pattern of behaviour and he would be in serious trouble if it was being repeated”.

Sheriff Macdonald deferred sentencing until November 13 for background reports to be completed and disqualified him from driving in the interim.
