Big Sing workshop at Borgie Wood hits right note

A GAELIC singing workshop hosted by the Tongue and Bettyhill community choir Big Sing last Saturday was a huge success.

The event was led by Caithness-based singer Christine Stone at Borgie Wood Cabin to mark World Gaelic Week, which ran from February 24 to March 2.

Participants said it was a “wonderful day learning Gaelic” and a “fabulous workshop”.

Choir leader Hilary Wilson said: “We were delighted to be given the opportunity to hold this event.

“Christine was an excellent tutor and had composed a Gaelic song especially for the day, which we learnt and then sang at the Gaelic tree spiral walk at Borgie Wood.

“We are grateful to everyone who came along and made the day such a fun event.”
