Bettyhill driver ‘panicked’ after Castletown car park collision





A Sutherland woman who drove away after an accident she caused was fined £200 at Wick Sheriff Court.

Samantha Stuart, of Rossal Place, Bettyhill, also incurred five penalty points.

Sheriff Neil Wilson heard that the 40-year-old collided with a vehicle while leaving a car park in Traill Street, Castletown, but was traced by police officers after they reviewed CCTV footage.

Damage to the car was said to be £3000 which was covered by her insurance.

Solicitor Fiona MacDonald said that Stuart had panicked after the collision.
