Could you come up with a special Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival design for a charity Highland HeArt Trail sculpture?

Organisers of the three-day entertainment extravaganza are supporting Highland Hospice by sponsoring a HeArt sculpture for next year’s Highland HeArt Trail - and are looking for an artist to decorate it.

The 5ft sculpture will be hosted in one of the trail’s 25 chosen locations, and moved to the site of the popular festival for its duration from July 31 to August 2 next year.

Bella’s marketing manager Cairan Macleod said: “We are delighted to be sponsoring one of Highland Hospice’s sculptures next year. For us it was a no-brainer, with the heart being so central to our brand.”

“We would love to invite artists of all abilities to submit their Belladrum-themed designs, so we can choose our very own Tartan Heart Festival sculpture design. This could incorporate music, specific bands, our stages, themes over the years or indeed the many loyal festival-goers who turn out in their thousands in support of the event. Be as creative as you can!”

It will be the third art trail hosted by the hospice, running throughout the Highlands from April to August 2025. Artists, whether well-known or undiscovered, are invited to submit their proposed design through the hospice website by November 25. Successful applicants will receive their HeArt to decorate between January and March.

The heart-shaped sculptures will be placed in each town where there is a hospice shop, as well as several in Inverness, and other destinations as far and wide as Thurso, Fort William, Portree and Forres. In autumn 2025, the sculptures will be showcased in a farewell display, before being auctioned off at a special hospice event, where they will find their permanent homes.

Hospice corporate fundraiser Karen Duff said: “We are so delighted that Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival is sponsoring one of our gorgeous heart sculptures - and we really look forward to seeing the festival-themed heart designs come in.”

“We would like to invite artists to submit designs for our remaining 24 HeArts. It would be great to see some designs specific to a Highland area or, like Belladrum’s, inspired by one of our sponsors.”

Karen added: “Acrylic paint is recommended for the sculptures, and once they are completed the hospice will lacquer each sculpture at no cost to the artist. Not only will the successful artist’s name, the artwork name and a description be included on the HeArt’s plinth and associated marketing materials, each artist will receive one free ticket to the final auction event.”

A number of sponsorship packages are still available to businesses who wish to sponsor an individual sculpture. These come with a host of marketing and PR opportunities. To find out more, contact Karen by email at k.duff@highlandhospice.org.uk or visit www.highlandhospice.org/hearts
