Ullapool chippies have made a sweep on award nominations for Takeaway of the Year.

The Food Awards Scotland have released their list of nominees for this year’s awards, with two Ross-shire establishments featuring.

One of these is the Deli-ca-sea chippy in Ullapool, which won an award for Best Fish Supper North at the Scottish Fish and Chip Awards last November. The chippy also recently began a new venture as a hot food takeaway, which opened earlier this year.

David Mackenzie, owner of Deli-ca-sea said: “A HUGE thank you to everyone who voted for us… We are very honoured to be rubbing shoulders with these guys.”

Deli-ca-sea received a nomination in the Takeaway of the Year North category at the Food Award Scotland — however another Ullapool chippy, The Seafood Shack, was also nominated in the same category.
